Biography

Born in Mexico, finalist of the International Lyric Competition Alcalá de Henares (Spain), winner of various international prices: the First Prize by unanimous decision in the International Zarzuela Competition of Valleseco  (Spain), First Prize in the national singing competition of the San Miguel Opera (Mexico), winner of the Audience Award in the framework of the 11th Festival D’Art Vocal (Canada) and she obtained the Merit of the Arts Award by ASPEVAZA (Mexico).

Her repertoire ranges from the baroque to the contemporary periods, opera, zarzuela and mexican folklore, which has led her to participate in numerous concerts as a soloist, both in symphonic and chamber music, and opera productions.

These are some of the roles she has interpreted: Carmen/Mercedes (Carmen), by Bizet; Flora (La Traviata) and  Maddalena (Rigoletto), by Verdi; Ciesca/Zitta (Gianni Schicchi) by Puccini; Javotte (Manon) by Massenet; Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel) Humperdinck; Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino/Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro) and Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte) by Mozart; Fidalma (Il matrimonio segreto), by Cimarosa; The Queen of Hearts (Alicia) and Lena (Leoncio and Lena), both by Mexican composer Federico Ibarra; among others.

Her symphonic repertoire includes works such as: Cinco Canciones Negras (Montsalvatge), El Amor Brujo and Siete Canciones Populares Españolas (Falla), the Requiem (Verdi), Symphony No. 9 (Beethoven), Messiah (Handel), Gloria (Vivaldi), Nelson Mass (Haydn) and Stabat Mater (Pergolesi). She has performed in Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Portugal, Japan, Guatemala, Colombia, the United States and Canada.

 She has sung under the baton of maestros such as: Will Humburg, Carlos Aragón, Peter Leonard, Enrique Patrón, Fernando Lozano, Rodrigo Macías, Alain Guingal, Eduardo Álvarez, Hakan Sensoy, Iván López-Reynoso, Jean-Paul Penin, among others.

In her native country was a scholarship holder of the International Society of Mexican Art Values (SIVAM), was part of Soloists Ensemble of the National Institute of Fine Arts and of the female vocal sextet Túumben Paax. With the latter, she shared the First Place in the contemporary music category and El David de Oro as the Best Choir Award, both in Florence (Italy), as well as the First Place and Gold Medal in the Vocal Ensemble Competition in Fukushima (Japan).

She recently sang in the Jenůfa’s production, opera by Janáček, at the reknown theatre La Maestranza in Spain.
